After spending a few weeks with friends we had earned a little alone time and decided some tasting menu date nights were in order. We also had a voucher from my birthday from my dad to go canyoneering in Waitakere Ranges Regional Park. Some food and some adventure.
On the canyoning trip, the guide and I got to chatting and it was brought up that I used to guide in college and had a lot of rope experience. He seemed pretty excited to have an extra pair of hands and I got to lead the entire day. It felt good to feel helpful and be in some what of a leadership position, plus it was great to get my hands on some rocks and ropes and I had a lot of fun rappelling down waterfalls.
